Parents, Family and Friends day
Parents, family, and friends day was this past Saturday on the Southeastern campus. This event was fill full of things to do. There was arts and crafts like make-a-street sign, make-a-dry erase board, splatter paint a freebie and get a tattoo.
These arts and crafts took a lot of passion and time to make. There was printing, pressing, air brushing, peeling and sticking involved.
Roxane Hensley was one of the student that made everything that Parents day had to offer. That sign is prefect to hang over a dorm room door. If you have one of those signs.
There is a little more to Parents, Family and Friends day, they also had entertainment that was really good.
The Chorvettes started of the entertainment with a medley of songs from the Broadway musical called "In the Heights." In the Chorvettes performance was a mixture of life lessons and what young adults are dealing with.
The Sparks Dance Team embraces the parents with some modern Hip-hop dance moves. They do the music the best.
The Sparks are fun to watch and they have so much energy that they transform it into their dances moves.
NOTE: We have some very talented students on our Southeastern campus. If they stay up with it. I could see them go far in their career.
After the dance teams the Southeastern cheer gave us a little pep in our step to get us pumped for the football game that was held later on in that day. The SE Cheer did a quick dance to keep their audience on there toes for their half time show at the game.
Parents day also had a dinner in the cafeteria which was free for anyone that was at the parents day event.
The last source of entertainment before the football game was the band practicing in from of the Morrison building.
All the elements of the band work hard to keep SE students pump up for the game. This group of musicians have the heart and soul of Southeastern. What I mean is they are the true heartbeat.
That concludes Parents, Family and Friends Day 2010.
